Fern Sandler, Ph.D.NYS Licensed Psychologist
Certified School Psychologist About Me
Through providing comprehensive developmental, behavioral, and cognitive assessments on children birth through twelve, it is my goal to better understand a child on all levels. One of my passions is to help identify issues in children when they first present so as to direct and educate the family as early as possible to getting the appropriate interventions. I know that the sooner treatment and services begin, the more likely the outcome is to be positive. In this effort, the right diagnosis is imperative. A particular specialty of mine is the assessment for, and diagnose of, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I am specifically trained in the ADOS-2, a gold standard instrument used as part of the evaluation for ASD. Sharing and explaining evaluation results and available resources with parents in a warm, kind, and clear manner is an integral part of my practice. I strive to help parents understand their children and to support the family. I enjoy working both privately and in the school environment and am willing to do in home evaluations. |
