Cindy L. Breitman, Ph.D. , ABPP-CNBoard Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist
NYS Licensed Psychologist About Me
As a neuropsychologist, my specialty is in understanding neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders and how they affect abilities. An assessment will evaluate brain functioning to determine current abilities and make appropriate diagnosis and treatment recommendations. My aim is to help determine how you are functioning now and how to best help you move forward. I strive to see the whole person and to provide a warm and caring environment so that you leave feeling heard and helped to know what direction to take next in your recovery and/or treatment. Assessment of cognition examines memory, language, learning, attention, planning, organization, motor skills and processing speed in addition to intellect and emotions. Testing involves an interview, medical record review, paper and pencil tests, questions and puzzles to evaluate how your brain is working and how you are functioning. I see ages 3 to >100 for evaluations and conduct clinical or forensic (legal, court) evaluations. I am a strong advocate for the field of neuropsychology. As such, I work to promote public awareness about the specialty of neuropsychology and on issues of advocacy related to health insurance coverage. This has involved significant and successful grassroots efforts to create changes within national and local health insurance companies. I served as the President of the NYS Association of Neuropsychology's (NYSAN) for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. I am also on NYSAN's Professional Affairs and Information Committee and the committee of Communications and Social Media. |
